Silliman
University
Established on August 28, 1901, Silliman University is Philippines’ and Asia’s first American and Protestant-founded institution of higher learning. Its Silliman Library is one of the finest and greatest libraries in Asia. It is also the home of the Silliman Anthropology Museum, which has housed the Cultural Research Center’s collection since 1964 and other rare and priceless exhibits dating from 500 to 200 B.C.

St. Catherine of Alexandria Church
St. Catherine of Alexandria Church is the famous historical landmark, the most iconic structure, and the oldest stone church in Dumaguete! It also has an accessible tower and belfry used as a watchtower to warn the locals when threatened by intruders. Now, the belfry serves to inform the locals for regular masses. At the base of the tower is the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, where people come to light candles and pray.
Quezon Park Dumaguete
Located at the center of the bustling city, Quezon Park is one of the most significant landmarks you will never miss. It faces the St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral and houses the Department of Tourism office. People love to stroll around the plaza, and children would love the playground. Then at night, people dance to the music or eat and drink from yummy street foods and drinks sold by local vendors.
Freedom Park Dumaguete
Freedom Park is the closest destination! It’s a great place for get-togethers, strolls, and picnics. The fountain comes alive at night with its bright and colorful lights. It is a perfect place to unwind and have some food. Many local vendors sell a variety of street foods in the area. The park is currently under renovation; however, you may still visit the park and enjoy leisurely things.
